The festival speakers and performers will look to focus on social awareness, diversity, and equality through multiple forms of speech and art.
The lineup will be split into four showcase groups, Self, Protest, Sex and Brave, all tackling a different set of topics.
The former My Chemical Romance frontman made an announcement an Instagram, sharing news of his addition to the bill.
“Excited to be part of @emergelv Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas! Please come join the festivities. Full schedule and tickets are available at www.emergelv.com #emergelv #morethanafest,” the post reads.
Way will join a heavy lineup of musicians and social influencers alike, including Laura Jane Grace, Culture Abuse, Bishop Briggs, Brandon Flowers, Yoke Lore and The Dose, among others.
The festival will also host Emma Gonzalez and David Miles Hogg, gun control advocates and survivors of the Marjory Stoneman-Douglas High School shootings. Gonzalez and Hogg both were crucial to starting the #MarchForOurLives protest.
The festival takes place May 31 and June 1 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
Recently, Way continued to dominate the comic book world by resurrecting his DC Comics imprint, Young Animal.
Way has already been packing his imprint with high quality content, announcing his contributions to Doom Patrol: Weight Of The Worlds.
Additionally, Gerard shared two other books that will be joining Doom Patrol: Weight Of The Worlds in the Young Animal revival. As previously reported, Mikey Way will unleash his comic series, Collapser. The third series is called Far Sector and will be written by N.K. Jemisin with art by Jamal Campbell.
